who is gráinne knox?

Hello, dia duit, hiya!

I’m a self-taught artist from Enniskillen, nestled in the scenic County Fermanagh. Living here with my husband, two kids, and our dogs, my artistic journey truly blossomed after my children were born. Their presence shapes my creations, both in theme and process.

Working predominantly in a digital format, I harness the capabilities of my iPad to illustrate. Each piece is crafted with the same detail and care as traditional methods—no shortcuts or software tricks. Every layer, hue, highlight, and shadow is drawn by hand. This approach not only exemplifies my dedication to my craft but allows me the flexible freedom to create wherever I am, often alongside my children’s activities.

Innovation is at the heart of every creation, where traditional techniques are fused with contemporary materials to redefine the boundaries of artistic expression. Each piece is a dialogue, inviting viewers to explore the interplay between nature and abstraction, while the vibrant colour palettes ignite a sense of wonder and curiosity. With a commitment to sustainability, our work not only captivates the eye but also respects the environment, making each artwork a thoughtful investment in the future. I aim to inspire both admiration and reflection, encouraging individuals to embrace the transformative power of art in their lives.

While they say “a picture paints a thousand words,” I like to think my illustrations communicate volumes on their own. I welcome commissions and collaborations, and you can explore my artistic offerings through my Etsy shop, featuring prints, mugs, earrings, and the T-shirt I'm wearing in one of my images. Each item is designed with care, reflecting my passion for art and the beauty around me.
